Actvity 4.3 Conference “ The Future of Computer Graphics Education"

 

CALL FOR FCGE PAPERS

Spring Conference on Computer Graphics and its applications (SCCG) is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year!
As a part of this celebration we are organizing an educational conference called

Future of Computer Graphics Education (FCGE09)

The main aim of this conference is to share existing teaching methods and approaches for computer graphics education and sketch possible future directions in this area. The Computer Graphics Education has rapidly expanded during the last few years. For example there is a new Department of Computer Graphic in Prague, new Faculty of Graphic Arts, University of Zagreb, Croatia and brand new MSc program "Computer Graphics for Media Industry" running at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology in Sarajevo sponsored by TEMPUS.

We encourage SCCG and CESCG participants to submit a short paper (max 4 pages A4) on Computer Graphics education at their university. These papers will be published in proceedings in collaboration with Comenius University and TEMPUS program at Sarajevo School of Science and Technology.

This conference will take place in Budmerice castle in Slovakia on April 22, 2009. The submission deadline of FCGE 2009 is March 23, 2009 (extended).

The plan is to then assign the submitted papers to the members of the IPC for reviewing. We would expect the reviews within 1 week. The IPC will then recommend papers for oral and poster presentations so that we can notify authors by March 25, 2009. Camera-ready papers and posters will be due: March 29, 2009

We invite submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
  • teaching computer graphics in a computer science curriculum
  • teaching graphics programming
  • designing curricula for computer graphics and related disciplines (e.g., image processing and computer vision)
  • experimenting educational programs mixing computer graphics with other disciplines
  • teaching computer graphics in curricula other then computer science
